Fortnite has taken the world by storm. The free-to-play, cross-platform 100-man battle royale game from the whizzes at Epic Games has quickly become one of the most-played games of the year, and for good reason. It’s no surprise, then, that a boon of Discord bots have appeared to meet the demand. I’ve spent the last week testing a bunch of Fortnite bots and I’ve compiled a short list I think every gaming server needs to check out.

Fortnite Stats

Prefix: !ftn

Fortnite Stats is a great and attractive bot for pulling some general play stats in these nice shareable cards. You can use the command !ftn {ign} to pull any player’s card like the one above, or even list up to four names to get a comparison of their metrics. Fortnite Stats is a great way to compare competitive Fortnite players without a lot of obtuse setup required. There are some other commands supported by this bot, including a few shop channel alerts, but the stat cards are the main draw here. Fortnite Stats is already on over 90,000 servers, so it really does speak for itself. If you haven’t done so already, check it out!

FortniteJump

Prefix: !f

!fweapons ak

I love FortniteJump for none of the reasons it advertises. While the eponymous !fjump command is a cute way to eliminate the pointless deliberation on where your squad is going to drop next round by urging a random location, it’s some of the other commands they didn’t mention on their listing that I really found useful on my server. The !fweapons commands like the one shown above do a great job breaking down all the weapon stats by tier, and cover all 22 of Fortnite’s weapon types. The !fleader commands can pull global leaderboards for the top 25 players on PC, PS4, and Xbox, sorted by solo, duos, and squads. This is a great feature for keeping the inflated ego of your teammates in check when they think they’re doing pretty good. FortniteJump isn’t on a lot of servers right now, and it’s a shame because it really should be.

PatchBot

Prefix: ?

PatchBot is a bit different from the others on this list, but it’s well worth having. This bot — or rather, this service — keeps your server up to date on patch notes for a host of your favorite games. Once you’ve gone through the setup on their website, you’ll be given the option to select which servers you want PatchBot to join, as well as the games you want to be kept abreast of. No, it’s not exceptionally exciting, but it is incredibly valuable. My group’s weekly game nights are frequently interrupted by unforeseen game updates which can often push us back upwards of an hour. This past week was the first time in months that our session started on-time, thanks to the notification ahead of time that Fortnite’s V4.1 patch had gone live. We’ve been using PatchBot to be kept up on Fortnite, but the service currently supports 24 other games, including PUBG, CS:GO, and Overwatch.

Guilded Bot

Prefix: g

Guilded Bot is also a little different from some of the others on this list. By integrating with the Discord server’s Guilded team page, it responds to a host of commands specific to you and your friends without any additional setup. Commands like g leaderboard fortnite generate these attractive team leaderboard cards. Since the team’s user IDs are already associated with their Guilded profiles, there’s no need to remember or regurgitate in-game names. Guilded Bot is also great for setting up future events. Anything created on the Guilded calendar is automatically shared with the server, and members can RSVP through Discord reactions. This feature is great for LFG channels too, as RSVPs outside the team are encouraged to apply. Any server that’s serious about organizing a solid crew of competitive Fortnite players should definitely check Guilded Bot out.

fnbr.co

Prefix: !fnbr

FNBR, or whatever I’m supposed to call this bot, is not complicated or deep. It’s not even finished, really. But it does one thing really well, and that’s all you need sometimes. Using the command !fnbr shop generates a nice, crisp image of Fortnite’s daily and featured cosmetics. I know some out there won’t find much use out of a command like this, since they plan to be playing every night anyway. But the rest of us just want to make sure we’re not missing that salt emote we’ve been waiting for.

This bot is still in beta and there’s a lot they’ve got in the works, including automatic news posts, but I’m just happy to get my shop updates.

Miscellaneous Notes

I was really eager to check out the Battle Royale bot, as it appeared to be very polished and listed a lot of interesting features. However, I’ve yet to find the bot actually appearing online. Moreover, the permissions seem rather excessive, even for a moderation bot (which it does advertise itself as, among other things). Despite the polish, I’d avoid inviting this one to your main server until you’ve had the chance to test it out on a separate server and see which permissions you’re comfortable with it having.

I also experienced a lot of issues with Fortnite Bot — a robust-looking bot that integrates with Partybus.gg — despite positive some positive feedback I’d heard of it. I was able to retrieve the .help command list, but unable to get most of them to respond or function accordingly. I can’t give a first-hand recommendation of the bot as a result. However, if it sounds interesting to you, check it out and see if you can get it going. It really does sound cool, and I don’t want to deny its developers the fair shake if I’ve made a mistake.
