Twitter has been a very critical part of everyone’s life since its inception. Be it a Journalist, Economist, Celebrity or Activist, all have used Twitter as their main platform for sharing their word. Since a long time, Twitter has been struggling with many criticism regarding its active monthly users in comparison to its registered users.

Although Twitter has been very active in upgrading its technologies, no new product has been successful inside it’s ecosystem. However, Twitter bought some promising startups like Vine and Periscope to add video element to its platform’s experience but even after spending millions of dollars they were not able to merge all platforms as one entity to bring better user experience. So, today Twitter stands with Tweets, Retweets, Mentions and Hashtag; same old features but definitely more technically sound.

What I’m writing here is, What’s next Twitter can do to bring a fresh element to its platform. I think “How about Twitter introducing a new product under its umbrella: A bot for queries regarding Brands from its users who want to ask specific questions about their favorite brands. Here a question arises, what’s new in this? Isn’t this what we do when we have some kind of issue with a platform! Let me explain; Here’s the analogy, we have a platform with Big Brands running their Twitter account and large user base who follows them. Why not use this opportunity and use Twitter’s existing talented team to build a bot which can be installed to the accounts of Big Brands and can reply to its follower’s query, additionally can even indulge into providing information about the brand to the user in real time. How about I as a customer of a brand tweet about a certain query instead of googling it and receive an instant reply from brand’s bot answering my query? How about I introduce my dilemma regarding having two options of similar product from two different brands like Television? No waiting for the designated team to reply. Irrespective of time, heavy traffic of tweets, you have your answer as fast as google searches your query in real time.

For instance: I tweet — “Hey ‪@Nike Why should I buy your Cortez instead of ‪@adidas’s Superstars is of same price?”

I get response instantly — “Hey @MayurSpeaks Nike’s Cortez provides best comfort and design when it comes to sneakers. And here is 15% off to help you with your next Cortez purchase.”

This can even be more interesting when both Brand’s bot will reply me and try to allure me with their products.

I actually tested this idea and was curious to know if a brand could indulge in a conversation with its followers when the latter is planning to buy competitors product.

My above screenshot screams that there was neither a response nor any interaction (by either of the four brands mentioned above) when I wanted to ask about their brand’s perspective when I was thinking of buying their competitor’s product.

To introduce such service to its platform, Twitter can build a super-efficient bot (a separate product for business account on its platform) which can be installed to their account. Later, Twitter can ask them to fill specific questions as per their bot’s design or provide as much information as possible with links to their website. This will enable the bot to answer or indulge in real time conversation as effectively as possible. Further, when any query is asked, the bot can dig into the data provided by the account holder and answer it. If the bot is not able to answer, this request can be forwarded to team responsible to handle the situation.

This bot ecosystem will help twitter to target whole new demographic of new user base and enable brands to engage with their customers on real time regarding general queries. When it comes to a specific complain or a complex issue, account managing team is always there to solve the issue but installing a bot to serve as a real time query solver can change Twitter’s path and users can use twitter to learn about brands rather than Google, this is what I believe.

I hope you like my idea and if you really do, please share it and help me reach wider audience. #twitter #innovate #socialmedia Biz Stone
